Robo Wagon lives!
Robo Wagon is a bit of an obsession on many levels.
First of all, I got the wagon originally to help with my trade-show booth.
I used it to transport the booth about 1/2 mile out on to the beach at Havasu, towing the wagon with my Honda Trail 50!
Then through a series of modifications, Robo Wagon got some nifty toys added!
The wagon has a solar panel to charge a big battery, accessory outlets, automatic turn signals, running lights, head lights, emergency flashers, dual air-horns, and custom Keith Moon spun aluminum hubcaps.
Robo Wagon was also my very first attempt at 3D illustration.
At the time, both my PC and the wagon were in my living room (Robo Wagon is now my coffee table!)
Using the wagon as reference, and a tape measure to find exact dimensions, I mocked up the wagon first in CorelDraw.
Once I had dimensioned pieces, I assembled them in Caligari TrueSpace, and rendered the above animation.
I would play the animation on the computer when I had guests over, and it would just boggle thier minds how I got the wagon into the PC!
The process is outlined step-by-step in my CorelDRAW 8 f/x Book!
